TCL Multimedia to set up new LCD TV factory in HuizhouPublished: 10 Dec 2008 01:34:35 PST

Dec. 10, 2008 (China Knowledge) - TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Ltd<1070> announced on Monday that the company plans to set up a new LCD TV factory in Huizhou, Guangdong province, sources reported.

The company said it has recently acquired the land-use right in Huizhou from its parent company TCL Corp<000100> for RMB 21.56 million. The land, which covers an area of 53,704.8 square meters, will be used for the purpose of building the LCD TV factory with expected initial production capacity of 3 million sets of LCD televisions and 2 million sets of semi finished LCD kits per year.

TCL Multimedia, together with its subsidiaries, is a global television manufacturer and distributor. Its products are sold in America, Europe and Asia.
